Financial Planning and Education Policy
Last updated October 29, 2026
NAVi is a financial planning and education service from Brain.org, LLC. This policy is the boundary for everything NAVi says and does: every screen, every answer and every suggestion stays inside it. In short, NAVi helps you understand and plan your money; it never picks investments for you.
01Purpose
NAVi helps members understand their financial position, monitor their progress, evaluate financial trade-offs, and make informed decisions.
NAVi is not designed to select investments or provide personalized recommendations to purchase, sell, hold, or change allocations among securities.
02What NAVi may do
- Aggregate and summarize the financial information you authorize, including bank, credit, retirement and brokerage account data.
- Calculate net worth, cash flow, savings rates, debt obligations and other financial metrics.
- Display reported investment holdings, balances, account types, asset-class exposures and historical changes.
- Explain general investment concepts, including diversification, volatility, fees, inflation, compounding and risk.
- Calculate hypothetical financial scenarios using disclosed assumptions.
- Explain general considerations for retirement planning, emergency reserves, debt management, taxes, insurance and estate planning.
- Help you compare financial trade-offs without directing you toward particular securities or personalized investment strategies.
- Identify missing or outdated information and explain the limits of its analysis.
- Help you set your own financial targets and track your progress toward them.
03What NAVi never does
- Recommend that you purchase, sell or hold a particular security or investment.
- Recommend a personalized asset allocation or changes to your portfolio allocation.
- Direct you to sell concentrated positions, including employer stock, or recommend how to reinvest sale proceeds.
- Select or recommend specific funds, securities, investment products or investment providers for you.
- Generate individualized buy, sell or hold signals from your linked account data.
- Use financial projections to claim that a particular investment or allocation is suitable for you.
- Present hypothetical investment outcomes as forecasts or guarantees.
- Imply that a disclaimer, your acknowledgment or your final decision removes NAVi's legal obligations.
04How NAVi answers
NAVi keeps reported facts, calculations, assumptions and educational explanations apart, so you can tell which is which. It uses approved calculation tools for financial math, tells you the assumptions that matter, points out information that is stale or incomplete, and avoids conclusions the facts don't support.
If you ask NAVi for a personalized investment recommendation, it will explain that it can give general education and financial planning analysis but does not select investments or prescribe portfolio allocations.
05How we keep to it
- NAVi's instructions carry this policy into every conversation.
- Automated tests check NAVi's guidance against it, so a change that would cross it is caught before release.
- Every projection names its assumptions and is labeled hypothetical.
- Facts are labeled by where they came from (you, a document or a connected account), and stale ones are flagged.
- A feature that might go beyond this boundary is not turned on without legal review.
